Emergency Safety Interventions
Safety is our number one priority! Emergency Safety Interventions (ESI) are seclusion and restraint used when the student presents a reasonable and immediate danger of physical harm to self or others. To reduce the need for ESI our staff are appropriately trained for their assignment in the area of positive behavioral interventions and support.
Each of our partner districts has adopted a policy pertaining to the use of Emergency Safety Interventions. Please refer to the website of your district of enrollment to find the specific policy. Reno County Education Cooperative is an interlocal and our staff members are subject to the same state ESI requirements as our partner districts. Therefore, our Board of Directors has adopted an ESI policy that pertains to our staff and the buildings/programs registered under RCEC .
